Translation

«Ése era el mantra con el que la gente adoraba al Señor Kṛṣṇa en Dvāpara-yuga. En Kali-yuga, el deber prescrito de la gente es cantar en congregación el santo nombre de Kṛṣṇa.

“By this mantra, the people worship Lord Kṛṣṇa in Dvāpara-yuga. In Kali-yuga the occupational duty of the people is to chant congregationally the holy name of Kṛṣṇa.

Purport

Como se afirma en el Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (12.3.51):

kaler doṣa-nidhe rājann asti hy eko mahān guṇaḥ
kīrtanād eva kṛṣṇasya mukta-bandhaḥ paraṁ vrajet
kaler doṣa-nidhe rājann asti hy eko mahān guṇaḥ
kīrtanād eva kṛṣṇasya mukta-bandhaḥ paraṁ vrajet

«Mi querido rey, Kali-yuga está lleno de defectos, pero todavía queda una buena cualidad: por el simple hecho de cantar el mahā-mantra Hare Kṛṣṇa podemos liberarnos del cautiverio material y elevarnos al reino trascendental». Así pues, en Kali-yuga se adora al Señor Kṛṣṇa con el canto de Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. Para propagar este movimiento, el Señor Kṛṣṇa advino personalmente en la forma del Señor Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Así se explica en el verso siguiente.

“My dear King, although Kali-yuga is full of faults, there is still one good quality about this age. It is that simply by chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, one can become free from material bondage and be promoted to the transcendental kingdom.” Thus in Kali-yuga one worships Lord Kṛṣṇa by chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. To propagate this movement, Lord Kṛṣṇa personally appeared as Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. That is described in the following verse.
