ye – vsa, ki; ca – in; eva – vsekakor; sāttvikāḥ – v vrlini; bhāvāḥ – stanja bivanja; rājasāḥ – pod vplivom guṇe strasti; tāmasāḥ – pod vplivom guṇe nevednosti; ca – tudi; ye – vsa, ki; mattaḥ – iz Mene; eva – vsekakor; iti – tako; tān – tista; viddhi – poskusi razumeti; na – ne; tu – toda; aham – Jaz; teṣu – v njih; te – one; mayi – v Meni.

Translation

Know that all states of being – be they of goodness, passion or ignorance – are manifested by My energy. I am, in one sense, everything, but I am independent. I am not under the modes of material nature, for they, on the contrary, are within Me.

Vedi, da so vsa stanja bivanja – pa naj bodo v vrlini, strasti ali nevednosti – proizvod Moje energije. V nekem smislu sem Jaz vse, vendar pa sem neodvisen. Nisem pod vplivom guṇ materialne narave, temveč so one tiste, ki so pod Mojim nadzorom.

All material activities in the world are being conducted under the three modes of material nature. Although these material modes of nature are emanations from the Supreme Lord, Kṛṣṇa, He is not subject to them. For instance, under the state laws one may be punished, but the king, the lawmaker, is not subject to that law. Similarly, all the modes of material nature – goodness, passion and ignorance – are emanations from the Supreme Lord, Kṛṣṇa, but Kṛṣṇa is not subject to material nature. Therefore He is nirguṇa, which means that these guṇas, or modes, although issuing from Him, do not affect Him. That is one of the special characteristics of Bhagavān, or the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

V materialnem svetu se vse odvija pod nadzorom treh guṇ materialne narave. Guṇe izvirajo iz Vsevišnjega Gospoda, Kṛṣṇe, vendar pa Nanj nimajo vpliva. Kdor prekrši državni zakon, je kaznovan, kralj, ki je zakon sestavil, pa le-temu ni podložen. Vsevišnji Gospod, Kṛṣṇa, prav tako ni pod vplivom zakonov materialne narave, čeprav materialne guṇe – vrlina, strast in nevednost – izvirajo iz Njega. Gospod je zato nirguṇa, kar pomeni, da guṇe kljub temu, da izvirajo iz Njega, nimajo vpliva Nanj. To je ena od značilnih lastnosti Bhagavāna, Vsevišnje Božanske Osebnosti.
