Arjuna said: O descendant of Vṛṣṇi, by what is one impelled to sinful acts, even unwillingly, as if engaged by force?

Purport
La entidad viviente, como parte integral del Supremo, es originalmente espiritual, pura y está libre de toda contaminación material. En consecuencia, por naturaleza, no está sujeta a los pecados del mundo material. Pero cuando se halla en contacto con la naturaleza material, actúa sin vacilación de muchas maneras pecaminosas, y a veces lo hace incluso en contra de su voluntad. Siendo esto así, la pregunta que Arjuna le hace a Kṛṣṇa acerca de la naturaleza pervertida de las entidades vivientes, viene muy al caso. Aunque a veces la entidad viviente no quiere actuar con pecado, aun así se la obliga a actuar. Sin embargo, las acciones pecaminosas no las incita la Superalma que se halla dentro, sino que se deben a otra causa, tal como el Señor lo explica en el verso siguiente.
A living entity, as part and parcel of the Supreme, is originally spiritual, pure, and free from all material contaminations. Therefore, by nature he is not subject to the sins of the material world. But when he is in contact with the material nature, he acts in many sinful ways without hesitation, and sometimes even against his will. As such, Arjuna’s question to Kṛṣṇa is very sanguine, as to the perverted nature of the living entities. Although the living entity sometimes does not want to act in sin, he is still forced to act. Sinful actions are not, however, impelled by the Supersoul within, but are due to another cause, as the Lord explains in the next verse.
